Lunch Buddy Program
This long-standing service project operates in the three public elementary schools in Willmar. Lunch Buddy provides Ridgewater students with the opportunity to mentor a child. If you have one day a week where you have room in your schedule to travel to the school site, eat lunch with your little buddy, and spend another twenty minutes doing something you choose together, you can be a buddy. It does not take a huge investment of time to influence the life of a child! Currently we have grant funding to cover the costs of your lunches and the criminal background check. You provide your own transportation, commitment, and time. We hold Big Buddy social events so you can get to know the other college buddies. In the spring, we have a campus celebration with all the Little Buddies present, so that they can see where you go to school. Help place college on the mental maps of these little ones!
