Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion holds a variety of strategic initiatives for students, employees, and community members to elevate attention to diversity, foster equity-mindedness, and create an inclusive environment so that everyone knows that they truly belong at Ridgewater College and our surrounding communities.
Ridgewater College is committed to providing welcoming and inclusive campuses that value and respect the unique experiences, needs, and contributions of individuals and groups from every background and identity to ensure that each student, employee, and community member has a genuine opportunity for participation and success.
Ridgewater College fully commits to opposing racism, bigotry, and all forms of exclusion and unjust bias based on personal identity. We view such actions as critical threats to the health and well-being of our College and the communities we serve. Read our anti-racism statement.
Ridgewater is committed to celebrating the diverse experiences that our students, staff, and faculty bring to our college. The Multicultural Calendar highlights dates we will be celebrating this year with a variety of related programming.
Throughout the upcoming academic year, we will have a variety of social justice speakers and topics to help elevate attention to social justice issues.
Faculty and Staff are invited to participate in a Brave Space Discussion Group. Brave Spaces differ from Safe Spaces in that they emphasize courage over safety, and discussions are centered around a variety of topics.
Safe Zone Trainings are a training opportunity for faculty, staff, or students to learn more about how to create zones that are inclusive for LGBTQIA+ members.
The purpose of the Multicultural Student Advisory Board is to advise the College President, Executive Team, and College Cabinet on issues affecting the Ridgewater College community related to diversity, equity and inclusion from the viewpoint of multicultural students. In addition, the MSAB Advisory Board recommendations will help inform the college’s priorities, planning and budgeting processes.
