Housing & Community
Ridgewater does not own or maintain dormitory facilities on its Willmar or Hutchinson campuses. However, both communities have adequate housing and rental units available adjacent to campus (walking distance) and away from campus (transportation required).
We recommend that you start your housing search late spring or early summer for the best selection.

Willmar
Willmar, with a population of approximately 20,000, is one of the fastest-growing areas in greater Minnesota. Located 90 miles west of Minneapolis, it is a regional hub for shopping, recreation, entertainment, and healthcare. It was designated in 2005 as an All-American City by the National Civic League.

Hutchinson
Home to around 14,000 people, Hutchinson is a fast-growing, high-tech community within one hour of the Twin Cities metro area. It has a solid and diverse industrial base, along with a strong retail system. It has received regional and national recognition, including Money magazine’s one of “fifty great towns with great jobs,” Mpls/St. Paul magazine’s “one of eight great towns to call home,” and “official best small town in Minnesota 2008.”
