Admission Criteria

Applicants must

• Attend a Nursing Information Session
• Complete the general college application process and be accepted to Ridgewater College
• Be a high school graduate or GED recipient
• Be current on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
  • If you’re not on the registry, complete the Nursing Assistant course or complete the test out if you were previously on the registry. Nursing Assistant courses are available at Ridgewater through Customized Training and Continuing Education. 
• Complete all semester 1 courses of the Practical Nursing curriculum plan with a minimum of a C grade:
  • PRNU 1617 Medical Terminology
  • ENGL 1210 English Composition 1 OR ENGL 1209 & ENGL 0980
  • PSYC 1310 Introduction to Psychology
  • BIOL 1080 Human Biology
• Complete and submit the Practical Nursing application and attach required documentation showing all criteria are met
