Request a Book and Interlibrary Loan
Library Catalog
To begin your search, visit our library catalog. We recommend signing into your student account before searching. The “Sign In” option is located at the top right of the page. Once signed in, use the search bar to enter the title of the book you are looking for.
As you type, a list of options will appear. Select the appropriate option based on your needs (e.g., Willmar Campus Library). You will be able to view items that the library has in stock. Click on the item you’re interested in to view more details.
To request the item:
- Click Request under the “Get It” section.
- A pop-up will appear. Click Send Request.
- A green notification will confirm that you’ve successfully placed the item on hold.
You will receive an email notification when your item is ready for pickup at the library.
Library CatalogInterlibrary Loan
If Ridgewater College does not own the material you need, you can access it through our Interlibrary Loan service. To do this:
- Change your search scope in the catalog to MnPALS using the dropdown menu in the search bar.
- Search for the item. Once found, click on the title to open the item details.
- Click Resource Sharing to initiate a loan request.
- A form will appear with all the necessary details. Choose the format you need (e.g., articles can be sent via email).
- Check the copyright box (this is required for your request to be processed).
- Click Send Request to complete. A green notification will confirm that your request has been successfully placed.
You will receive an email notification when your item is ready for pickup.
This service is free for Ridgewater students, faculty, and staff and is provided through MINITEX. Borrowed materials from other libraries can be checked out for 2 to 4 weeks and may or may not be renewable. Photocopies of materials can be kept.
