Ridgewater Theatre to Present “The Diary of Anne Frank” April 25-27
April 21, 2024
Written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, “The Diary of Anne Frank” is based upon “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl”. The play is about the lives of eight Jewish people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic in the heart of Amsterdam for about two years.
“This is a powerful story that many are already familiar with, but that doesn’t minimize the importance of telling it,” said Ridgewater Theatre Director Matt Hegdahl. “This story matters in so many ways, especially with the conflicts that we see going on in the world, and the political implications that can be taken away from it. I decided to do this play for a plethora of reasons, but one of the main driving forces behind it was to challenge the cast, as well as myself, with a historical drama.”
