Black History Month Speaker Rescheduled for April 6

Due to a Ridgewater weather cancelation day on February 23, Black History Month speaker Dr. Karlos K. Hill has been rescheduled for Thurs., April 6 at 11:00 a.m. on Zoom.
To help build awareness and healthy communities, the Ridgewater College Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion hosts various events throughout the year, many open to the public.
This virtual event is free and open to the public, but registration is required for the Zoom link.
Thurs., April 6, 11 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: “Celebrating Black Wall Street and Remembering the Tulsa Massacre”
Dr. Hill is an expert on racism and race relations. He is an associate professor of African and African-American Studies at the University of Oklahoma and founding director of his university’s African and African-American Studies Distinguished Lecture Series. He will share insights and help participants understand the rise of the Greenwood District, discuss what is now known as Black Wall Street, and build awareness of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
This event is sponsored by 10 partnering Minnesota State colleges including Ridgewater College.
