This new diploma is a collaborative learning experience that combines skills in Welding and Nondestructive Testing to enhance student employment opportunities. Students will obtain a diverse skill set to work in both the creation and inspection of weldments.
Welding and Nondestructive Testing Methods graduates work in aerospace, energy and power generation, infrastructure and construction, and advanced manufacturing.
Students learn skills in:
- Welding, metal forming and basic fabrication using four welding methods: shielded arc, gas tungsten arc, metal arc, and oxyacetylene
- Inspection and monitoring of weld quality using nondestructive testing methods: ultrasound, phased array, radiography, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle
