Ridgewater VB to serve up honors for those who serve
September 3, 2021
WILLMAR, MN – When the Lady Warriors host their volleyball home opener on Friday, September 10 at Ridgewater College, Willmar campus, they will be serving on the court but also saluting the audience.
On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 national tragedy, the Warriors are inviting all people who serve to attend the 6:30 p.m. game for free and be honored prior to the national anthem. In addition to past and present military men and women, the Warriors would like to recognize those who serve regionally through fire and rescue, emergency medical services, medical, law enforcement, etc.
“The Lady Warriors of Ridgewater Volleyball wanted to find a way to honor and give back to those who serve our communities, both locally and from afar,” said Coach Amanda Bohlsen. “Thanks to a generous donation of flowers for honorees from Stacy’s Nursery, we are able to make this happen to recognize those who protect us, our loved ones, and our communities. Help us ‘Raise our Shields’ for those who keep our communities Warrior Strong as well as support your Ridgewater student athletes who have been working hard to get back onto the court after missing a season due to COVID guidelines.”
Game time is 6:30 p.m. when the Warriors take on Lake Region State College, ND.
