Thomas Tie (Tom) is the TRIO Student Support Services Director at Ridgewater College. He was born and raised in the U.S. Air Force and lived in five different states by the age of nine. Tom is very familiar with transferring, as he completed an Associate of Arts degree from Hibbing Community College before transferring to the University of Minnesota in Duluth (UMD). While at UMD, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Economics. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Bemidji State University. Tom has worked at Ridgewater College since 2005. He loves to travel and is an aviation enthusiast.
