Mark grew up on his family farm and graduated from Maynard High School. He received an A.S. degree from Willmar Community College (a former title for Ridgewater College) and a B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota in Agricultural Business. Mark worked in the poultry industry for Sparboe Companies in Litchfield MN and also Gold’N Plump Poultry in St. Cloud MN.
In 1992, Mark returned to the family crop farm and worked part time for Ridgewater College’s Continuing Education department, teaching Quality Analysis through a state grant for developing a poultry program. Mark has served as Director for the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Co-op Board, as Treasurer of the American Sugarbeet Growers Association, and currently serves on the Pioneer Public TV Board of Directors.
Mark and his wife Bonnie (Bohm) have lived in Willmar since 1992. Mark’s hobbies include golfing and curling.
