Ridgewater Theatre to Present “Hearts Like Planets” April 24-26
April 15, 2025

WILLMAR and HUTCHINSON, MN – “Hearts Like Planets” will hit the stage of the Ridgewater College Theatre on the Willmar campus at 7 p.m., April 24-26. Tickets are available at the box office one hour prior to showtime.
Written by Adam Szymkowicz, “Hearts Like Planets” is an adventurous, farcical comedy set in New York City. With rival, evil Dr. X in jail, members of the New Crimefighters are somewhat at peace. Until Superhero Magpie is on a date with roving reporter Henry Hardnose when they witness a moon-sized rock stumbling toward Earth. With destruction looming, “Hearts Like Planets” tells a tale of heroes and villains and their common bond – a desire for happiness and companionship with people who make them feel authentic.
“It’s a play about looming disaster, crimefighting superheroes, and love,” said Ridgewater Director Matt Hegdahl. “The characters are interesting and unique, and sometimes just plain weird, but they’re all fun! They may be facing certain doom in the play, but I really hope the audience will find it funny and touching.”
This play contains content intended for ages 14 years and older.
Performances are set for 7 p.m. April 24-26 (Thurs.-Sat.). The box office opens one hour before showtime for $10 tickets, with theatre doors opening 30 minutes before curtain call. Admission is free for Ridgewater students and staff.
