Choosing Ridgewater College was a practical decision for me due to its affordable tuition and supportive staff. It allowed me to earn my Professional Photography Certificate and Liberal Arts AA degree without taking out loans, thanks to scholarships. Ridgewater’s impact on my life was significant as it provided me with the educational foundation I needed to pursue my career goals. Now, I’m continuing my education at Minnesota State University Moorhead, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Advertising & Public Relations with a minor in Media Analysis.

I was drawn to Ridgewater College for its photography program, which was the closest option offering this specialization. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I wanted to dive deeper into its technical aspects and how to use photography to benefit me with my future career. Ridgewater’s program seemed like the perfect fit for my interests and goals.

My relationship with Ridgewater instructors and staff was characterized by their unwavering support and expertise. From the moment I enrolled, they were always available to provide guidance and assistance whenever needed. Whether it was clarifying course materials, offering constructive feedback on my work, or providing valuable insights into the industry, their dedication to student success was evident.

One thing I learned at Ridgewater College that has been most helpful to me since graduating is the importance of perseverance and adaptability. The skills I acquired in navigating through challenges, whether they were technical aspects of photography or balancing coursework with other responsibilities, have been invaluable in my professional and personal life. Learning to adapt to different situations and persevere in the face of obstacles has enabled me to thrive in various environments and continue to pursue my goals with determination and resilience.

Ridgewater offers a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally. The staff are not only knowledgeable and dedicated to student success but also genuinely care about each student’s journey.

Additionally, Ridgewater’s close-knit community fosters connections and friendships that can last a lifetime. Whether it’s through participating in campus events, joining student organizations, or collaborating with classmates on projects, there are endless opportunities to engage and build meaningful relationships.
