Your Ridgewater Experience
I really just wanted to stay close to home and Willmar was close so that why I picked this school. Ridgewater college impacted my life in two ways. One, I found the job I love, and two, the thing that really made a difference is the Ministry Center across the street; Pastor Jeff and Amy definitely helped. Being over there felt safe and they always had meals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Socializing with my friends over there before class was definitely fun and so was learning CPR because then I can help other people.
After graduation, I got a job at the Willmar public school as a teacher on the playground. OSP (Occupational Skills Program) has helped me make amazing friends. We are all still in contact and may go back to school.
Your Program
I had an IEP (Individualized Education Program) in high school. OSP was the best option for me and I loved it.
Relationships with Faculty & Staff
One teacher really helped me. Even when she was not my teacher I still wanted to talk to her. She was always there for me. I always loved going to the Ministry Center. Jeff and Amy helped me feel safe. I loved going to school and I love the Ministry Center.
Memorable Experiences, Learning Moments and Advice
I was in the OSP club and enjoyed learning how to write my resume. Advice for students: go for it.
