Healthcare & EMS Training Programs
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Students will learn advanced skills and techniques using the latest research by the American Heart Association, and upon successful completion, will receive AHA Certification as an ACLS provider. Choose between a traditional in-person class covering both lecture and lab components, or leverage the AHA’s HeartCode online lectures and have our experienced instructors complete the skills-only training and exam! Both initial and recertification courses are available.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Students will learn skills specific to the unique challenge of pediatric emergencies and upon successful completion will receive AHA Certification as an PALS provider. Choose between a traditional in-person class covering both lecture and lab components, or leverage the AHA’s HeartCode online lectures and have our experienced instructors complete the skills-only training and exam! Both initial and recertification courses are available.
- CPR and 1st Aid

Healthcare professionals can certify/recertify in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through Ridgewater College. For a more complete training package, add in an AHA first aid course as well. Not a health professional? No problem! We also offer the AHA Heartsaver CPR/1st Aid program. Choose between a traditional in-person class covering both lecture and lab components, or leverage the AHA’s HeartCode online lectures and have our experienced instructors complete the skills-only training and exam!

Ridgewater College is an approved training provider through the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB), and offers a comprehensive portfolio of EMS-related programs and courses, including:
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Initial – Hybrid online/on site
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Initial – Hybrid online/on site
- EMR Refresher (16 hours) – covers all EMSRB-required topics and NCCP
- EMT Refresher (24 hours) – covers all EMSRB-required topics and NCCP
- EMR to EMT Bridge Program
- NCCP Topics (online, a la carte) for EMT/EMR Recertification
- Paramedic Refresher
- Medical Simulations

Ridgewater is an established leader in the provisioning of high-fidelity medical simulation training and education. Whether on campus or at your site, we can simulate virtually any healthcare scenario, allow professionals to respond to the situation, and debrief about what went well and what didn’t. Topics can include cardiac events, trauma – including amputations, illness, OB, poison and more.
