Auto body technicians are skilled metal repair experts who may be involved in all phases of auto body repair. Repair of damaged vehicles involves straightening frame and unibody sections, aligning front suspensions, removing dents from body panels, replacing glass and mechanical parts, estimating damage, and painting. The auto body collision industry is an ever-changing industry with the advent of smaller, more economical automobiles and increased concern with passenger safety and comfort. Due to the rising number of manufactured cars and an increasing rate of automobile accidents, there is a great need for auto body collision technicians.
Many employers come to Ridgewater over and over for Auto Body graduates because they’ve found that they are exceptionally well-trained and often exceed employer expectations.
After four years of documented work experience, graduates are eligible for Ridgewater’s Advanced Collision Specialty Technician certificate. This additional credential, which takes graduates to a higher level of technical expertise through hands-on experiences, gives graduates a greater potential for higher pay. They enhance their skills in everything from repair and refinishing to administration and management.
