Dating, Relating, & Communicating
February 21, 2024
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Both Campuses: Willmar: Room A240, Hutchinson: Room 247
Would you date you? Befriend someone like you?
Reporting on-line to be “in a relationship” is a far cry from being in one as the variables surrounding relationships evolve daily. Add in the responsibilities of being a student, a student leader, a student athlete, a part-time employee…, and the difficulty amplifies.
Entities like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snap, Tinder and Bumble have forever changed our social landscape. One post, text or picture can alter multiple lives in an instant at a time when colleges are encouraging mindfulness, inclusivity, a culture of consent, and mature decision making.
In a humorous, yet candid way, David Coleman, The Dating Doctor, will help students navigate dating’s ever-changing waters as he addresses:
- What true friendship means
- Creating a culture of consent
- The ABC’s of initial interest
- The characteristics of healthy relationships
- Navigating a difficult breakup
- Common mistakes made during on-line dating
- Managing long-distance relationships
- Rizz
- Situationships
- Lockering
- David’s Fast Five Take-a-ways
- And more!
David’s expertise and stage presence makes this more than just a program…it’s a life-changing event.
This event is a livestream viewing from Saint Paul College and is sponsored by Minnesota State. This event is intended for Ridgewater students.
