Choosing a career is an important – and often difficult – decision. Career Services at Ridgewater College helps students in all stages of career planning, from exploring careers to conducting a job search to applying for a job. We also help employers find qualified and well-trained employees.
Academic Exploration Services
Career counseling
Ridgewater counselors will help you explore your interests, skills, and values that relate to a career decision. They will introduce various ways to assess yourself in these areas, and they will help you learn about the world of work in general and about specific careers.
Career testing
Counselors will suggest appropriate assessments based on your interests. After your test has been scored, your counselor will meet with you to discuss the results and suggest follow-up activities.
Career planning center
Find career reference books, career books and pamphlets, our college catalog library, and computers. You’re free to browse on your own or ask for assistance.
Career planning courses
Ridgewater College offers Career Exploration and Planning – CAOR 0101, an online, one-credit course. Speak with your advisor to register.
Career planning websites
A variety of online resources can help introduce or broaden your career search. We encourage you to follow up with a counselor to discuss what you have learned from these sites.
