Established in 1996 through the merger of Willmar Community College and Hutchinson-Willmar Regional Technical College, Ridgewater College is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System. Its name reflects the region's glacial ridge and abundant waterways, symbolizing connection and opportunity.
Serving central Minnesota with campuses in Willmar and Hutchinson, Ridgewater offers a wide range of career and technical more than 50 program options, including career and technical degrees and certificates, multiple fully online programs, and robust liberal arts and transfer pathways, which offer students the first two years of a Bachelor's Degree.
Today, Ridgewater is a future-focused institution committed to creating opportunities and changing lives through innovative education and workforce development. Ridgewater is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
