Carpenters are involved in a variety of construction activities for residential, agriculture and commercial applications. Carpentry work is active and sometimes strenuous, but exceptional strength is not required. There can be prolonged standing, climbing, and squatting.
Most carpenters specialize in trade areas such as finish work, rough framing, or concrete forming. The majority of carpenters work in a business related to construction. Many carpenters have the opportunity to be self-employed as independent contractors.
