About the Program
 
The Health Sciences Broad Field AS degree helps prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution for a broad array of health science majors. It’s also a great major to choose if you’re still considering whether a two-year health career program like nursing might be right for you. 
 
 
Students will take such classes as:

  • Anatomy
  • Biology
  • Physiology
  • Chemistry
  • Communications
  • Statistics
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Nutrition 

 
Students will have a science-heavy focus and an excellent opportunity to get a quality first two years of a four-year degree in a smaller, more personal environment with exceptional faculty as they test the waters of whether a healthcare career is a good fit for you.

 
Transferability
 
Ridgewater’s degree is designed to fulfill the health science baccalaureate requirements at all MnSCU system universities offering related degrees, including but not limited to:

Bemidji State University: 
  Community Health and Exercise Science

Minnesota State University, Mankato:
  Communication Disorders, Foods and Nutrition, Therapeutic Recreation,   Dietetics, Corrections, Psychology, Health Science and Social Work

Minnesota State University, Moorhead:
  Health Education, Exercise Science, and Community Health

St. Cloud State University: 
  Athletic Training, Community Health, and Social Work 

Winona State University:
  Health, Exercise and Rehabilitative Science, Movement Science,     Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Exercise Science, Health Promotion         and Biology-Allied Health
