FERPA is a federal law that affords parents the right to have access to their children's education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. When a student becomes 18, the rights transfer from parents to the student.
In order to release academic or financial information to a parent or spouse, students will need to fill out the Authorization to Release Student Information form. This form is found here.
Unless this form is filled out, your information cannot be released to anyone other than yourself.
If you'd like to give an individual access to pay your bill, the Authorization form must be on file.
If you have any questions, please contact the Records and Registration Office at 320-222-5200.
